If we treated our bodies in an exemplary manner, we could certainly do without detox drinks. But we can’t always resist unhealthy snacks or alcoholic drinks. After all, in many cases an Aperol Spritz really rounds off the summer party. Every now and then it is inevitable that we have to detoxify our body a little. This usually also benefits our bikini figure. Because the three delicious detox drinks that we present to you are not only really healthy, they also have hardly any calories.

Refreshing lemonade

Who actually says that a lemonade always has to consist of half sugar? Our lemonade is at least as delicious and also really healthy.

Ingredients for four people

  • 4 Amalfi lemons
  • 1 organic cucumber
  • 1 liter of sparkling mineral water
  • 4 sprigs of mint
  • 10 ice cubes

First, three of the lemons are squeezed. Amalfi lemons are our first choice. Because they have a balanced ratio of acidity and sweetness. The lemon juice is mixed with the mineral water and the ice cubes in a carafe. Now the remaining lemon is cut into small cubes and added. The cucumber, on the other hand, is finely sliced ​​before it goes into the carafe. The delicious summer drink is ready with almost no calories.

Switchel

There are few foods that help detoxify the liver better than apple cider vinegar and ginger. We use these healthy properties and mix ourselves a delicious switchel. Where the drink’s funny name came from is a matter of debate. Some suspect that it derives from the English word swizzle, which means “peasant snare”. It is at least certain that the farmers in the Caribbean were already drinking Switchel to defy the heat.

ingredients for 4 persons

  • 1 liter of sparkling mineral water
  • 8 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 10 ice cubes

The ginger is peeled and cut into small cubes. Now it is stirred in the water together with the apple cider vinegar and the maple syrup. Then add ice cubes and put the whole thing in the fridge for an hour so that the switchel can infuse properly.

Cold ginger tea

Iced tea has long been our go-to drink for beating the summer heat. However, industrially produced ice teas have the disadvantage that they often contain a lot of sugar. So we simply brew our own ginger tea, which wonderfully detoxifies the body and provides pleasant cooling in summer.

Ingredients for four people

  • 1 thumb-sized bulb of organic ginger
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 10 ice cubes

The ginger is cut into wafer-thin slices. We deliberately chose organic ginger because the skin contains valuable antioxidants. The water is poured into a pot, the ginger slices are added. Everything is cooked for about 20 minutes. Then remove the pot from the stove and stir the honey into the still warm liquid. When the ginger tea has completely cooled down, we season it with lemon juice. Now we pour the liquid into a carafe, add the ice cubes and put our ginger tea in the fridge for another hour.
