The 49-euro ticket will finally be available from April
The 9 euro ticket was a complete success. For this reason, a permanent solution was discussed for a long time. Now the successor is finally coming, the 49-euro ticket. It is officially valid from May 2023. But it can already be bought online or in stores from April.
The 49-euro ticket is valid for all public transport in Germany and can therefore replace the much more expensive monthly tickets. Unfortunately, it cannot be used as a ticket on the IC, ICE or EC, and you are not allowed to take any other people with you.
From mid-April 2023, the nuclear power plants will be shut down
Emsland, Isar 2 and Neckarwestheim 2 were given a grace period last year. But this, too, is now being phased out: on April 15, 2023, the nuclear power plants will be taken off the grid.
They were continued despite the decision to phase out nuclear power because the federal government wanted to ensure energy security over the winter. The exit is final and, according to the Federal Ministry, should not be reversed.
New from April: Corona protection regulations are expiring
The Corona protection regulations were set until April 7, 2023. Since the Federal Ministry has not made any further statements so far, all protective measures end.
This means that the mask requirement, which was previously valid for medical practices, hospitals and all other health and care facilities, will be abolished. From then on you can go to the nursing home or to the doctor without a mask, unless the house rules state otherwise.

But there is good news not only for this professional group: Temporary workers can also look forward to a wage increase. From April 2023, a collectively agreed minimum wage of 13 euros per hour will apply to them. This is an important step to create fair working conditions for everyone.
In the construction industry, wages will also increase for employees from April 2023. In the west by 2 percent, in the east by as much as 2.7 percent. In addition, there is a one-time payment of 450 euros for all employees in May. Great news for everyone who works in this industry and can look forward to decent pay.
New from April: more net salary with the same gross salary
Good news for employees! From April 1, 2023, the net income will increase with the same gross salary. The reason for this lies in the changed processes for wage tax deduction.
From this date, employers must take into account higher tax allowances for employees. The employee lump sum is raised to 1,230 euros and the relief amount for single parents is set at 4,260 euros. These changes mean that employees and civil servants have to pay less tax and thus more net ends up in their accounts.
