The most beautiful, but often the most tragic stories are written by life itself. This is also the case with Becky Mason († 69) and George Kelly (72). The two met in 2004 and weren’t really looking for a serious relationship. But in the end it got serious. Becky got cancer. The two finally married shortly before her death.
Becky Mason married her partner shortly before her death
Becky suffered from colon cancer. The diagnosis came three years earlier. But it was only recently that she found out how bad things really are for her. The prognosis was: 24 to 72 hours of life left, partly because her kidneys suddenly failed, as “People” reports. Her partner George Kelly then said: “If I could take her cancer and take care of it myself so that she can live, then I would do it. Gladly!” But on Sunday (July 9) Becky passed away.

The news was announced on the GoFundMe page set up to benefit Becky. It said: “It is with great sadness but also with gratitude that we announce that Becky passed away yesterday, Sunday 9th July around 3pm. She was surrounded by love and peace. Thank you for all your love and continued support, we sincerely appreciate it.” A post on the KOCO-TV channel shows how the couple got married shortly before their deaths. The ceremony was performed on her deathbed.

Her husband previously told the camera crew: “I understood that she was almost at the end of her journey and I tried to be as strong as I can for her. But it’s not easy. I was her carer, her Friend and her lover and I will continue to be all of that. Until she dies.” He finally kept his promise in an impressive way.
