Do Muslims celebrate Easter? The Christian Holidays in Islam
For the Koran and for Muslims, Jesus is a prophet and messenger of God. So does Islam commemorate the resurrection of Jesus?
- In the Koran there are no accounts of the life or death of Jesus as Christians are familiar with them from the Bible. Rather, the Koran only contains individual suras about Jesus.
- The Qur’an contains no passion story, nor does it contain any information about the events of Good Friday. A single so-called “crucifixion verse” in Sura 157 refers to the death of Jesus in a few words. This verse also remains mysterious and enigmatic.
