From Zara to Chanel, these are the most popular fashion brands on second-hand platforms

Buying second-hand clothes is becoming increasingly popular. No wonder: not only will your wallet be happy about the reuse of already used clothes, there is also a lot to be said for the environment.

In a study, the Savoo platform has now determined which brands are particularly popular in second-hand online shops and apps. We present you the results.

According to study: The 10 most popular brands on second-hand platforms

For the analysis, Savoo took a closer look at the offerings from eBay, Depop, Vestiaire Collective and ASOS Marketplace. After the comparison, a ranking of the most popular brands was created.

  1. zara
  2. Nike
  3. Adidas
  4. HM
  5. Victoria’s Secret
  6. ASOS
  7. Levi’s
  8. Louis Vuitton
  9. Gucci
  10. chanels

From rather cheap brands like H&M or ASOS to expensive luxury labels like Chanel and Gucci, everything is included. If you were still skeptical, the study demonstrates: It doesn’t matter what you prefer – everyone can find something on second-hand platforms!

Zara is the most popular brand on the websites used for the study, with more than 670,000 products. However, the analysis also shows that casual streetwear from sports brands – in this case Nike and Adidas – is still trendy.

Whether Zara or Chanel: This is how you buy your clothes more sustainably

When it comes to making your own purchasing behavior more sustainable, second-hand is only part of the solution. One trick that might help is to ask a simple question: am I really going to wear this garment more than 30 times? In this way you can avoid that a certain piece disappears in the closet after just a few weeks. And that not only saves important resources – you can also save a lot of money with this method.

Don’t throw it away: This is how clothes can be saved

But another point is almost as important: what do you do with a piece of clothing if it breaks?

Admittedly, the extent of the damage is crucial here. Just because a sweater has a small hole doesn’t mean you have to throw it away. If you don’t know how to repair the damage, there is a simple solution: the web is full of sewing tutorials, often a short YouTube video is enough.
