The first thunderstorms from France will reach western Germany on Thursday afternoon, but with weakening. From 3 p.m. it gets dicey when the thunderstorms pick up speed. The German Weather Service has already issued a warning for large parts of the country.
The worst storms threaten in the south
Two main storms appear on Thursday: In the south and south-west there is the greatest danger of supercells, which can also produce tornadoes. The German weather service is already warning of hurricane gusts that can reach up to 120 km/h. In addition, there can be hail, which can be between five and seven centimeters in size.

Until 4 p.m.: The first heavy thunderstorms form in the Black Forest, in the Eifel and in the Palatinate Forest. Heavy rain reaches Hanover, Kassel and Braunschweig.
Till 17 o clock: A loose thunderstorm line has formed along the Rhine. Mainz, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt am Main can also be hit by thunderstorms. Beware of heavy rain, hail and heavy thunderstorms up to 100 km/h.
Until 7 p.m.: The climax of the storm is here. There is now heavy rain in Hamburg and Bremen. First showers in Stendal and Berlin. Isolated thunderstorms in the east and south.

Until 2 o’clock: Heavy heavy rain with gusts of wind in Thuringia, Saxony, Franconia, Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.
