Indoor plants are not only decorative and beautify the living environment, they can also be good for your health. For example, a plant on your bedside table can remove pollutants from the air and improve the quality of your sleep.
While some plants, such as cacti and succulents, need very little watering, others need water every day. If you’re also one of those hobby gardeners who don’t always think about regular watering, these two tips that we discovered on TikTok can help you.
Watering tricks for forgetful planters
For the first trick you will need the following:
- An empty flower pot
- A carafe
- A thick fiber yarn
To do this, fill the carafe with water and place it on the inverted flower pot. Then cut off a piece of yarn, hang it in the carafe with the middle piece and dip it in the water. You can then hang the two ends of the yarn in a plant pot.
Over time, the yarn soaks up water and releases it into the soil in the flower pots. This way your plants get water regularly and you only have to remember to refill the carafe occasionally.
For the second trick you need:
- A small glass bottle
- A pin
For this trick, poke small holes in the lid of the glass bottle with the pin. Then fill them up with water and stick them upside down in the soil of your flower pot.
This way, your plants will gradually be supplied with water droplets that seep out of the holes in the bottle cap and you only have to remember to refill the bottle occasionally.
Not only are these tricks useful for forgetful planters, they’re also perfect for watering your plants while you’re on vacation, for example.
